Kazakhstan to Speed Up Gas Processing Plant Construction at Karachaganak

Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and Shell’s Exploration and Production Division President Peter Costello emphasized accelerating the construction of a 4 billion cubic meter gas processing plant at the Karachaganak field during their May 19 meeting.

Shell executives, including Senior VP Ali Al-Janabi and VP Suzanne Kugean, also discussed expediting phases 2A and 2B of the Kashagan field, which involve building a 2.5 billion cubic meter gas processing plant and developing new field sections.

Shell’s projects in Kazakhstan span the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, North Caspian and Karachaganak fields, refinery modernization, and geological exploration.
