Kazakhstan is set to initiate eight chemical industry projects valued at $27 million

Kazakhstan is set to commission eight chemical industry enterprises by the end of the year, with a total investment of 12.9 billion tenge ($27 million), the Central Communications Service’s press office reported on Aug. 14, citing the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Construction.

Kazakhstan will launch eight chemical industry projects worth $27 million, creating nearly 350 jobs. These projects will produce liquid nitrogen, sodium pyrosulfite, and chemical reagents, with up to 70% of the output for domestic use.

This year, Kazakhstan has already opened two chemical plants: one for ammonium sulfate in Mangystau and another for household chemicals in Almaty, attracting $8.5 million in investment and creating 36 jobs.

Additionally, 22 projects valued at $1.6 billion are underway, focusing on green hydrogen, uranium oxide, lithium carbonate, and more. These will create 4,700 jobs, with over 45% of their output for export.

Currently, 62 projects worth $28 billion are in development, aiming to create over 26,000 jobs. The portfolio of 94 chemical projects totals $29.7 billion and has the potential to generate around 31,500 jobs when fully implemented.(Source:astanatimes)
