Kazakhstan Provides Free AI Training for Teachers

Over 200,000 teachers across Kazakhstan have completed a free training program on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, supporting the government’s efforts to enhance digital literacy among educators.

At the start of the new academic year, more than 140,000 teachers received certificates after completing the course, while thousands continue their studies. Participation was highest in Shymkent, and the Turkistan and Zhambyl regions, with primary school teachers comprising the majority of participants, the Ministry of Education reported on Sept. 11.

The program was adapted by the National Center for Professional Development Orleu in cooperation with UNESCO. It introduces teachers to AI tools for classroom applications, including lesson planning, test design, teaching material creation, and ethical use of AI.
