Kazakhstan Outranks US, Japan, Singapore in Global Anti-Money Laundering Index

Kazakhstan has climbed to 111th place with 4.65 points in the Basel Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Index, surpassing 110 countries, including the United States, Japan, Singapore, and Qatar.

The annual ranking, developed by the Basel Institute on Governance, evaluates 164 nations based on 17 indicators across five domains related to money laundering and financial crime risks.

This marks an improvement for Kazakhstan, which ranked 100th in 2023 with 4.71 points, achieving its best performance since the index's inception in 2012.

San Marino, Iceland, Finland, Estonia, Andorra, and Sweden lead the ranking with the lowest money laundering risks globally.
