A noteworthy investment of 77.6 billion tenge (equivalent to US$171.3 million) has been reported in Kazakhstan's professional, scientific, and technical activities for the period of January to November 2023, according to the Finprom financial and business analytical service on January 16. This substantial financial commitment has the potential to drive advancements in research, innovation, and the cultivation of crucial skills and technologies. Such investments often play a pivotal role in fostering economic growth, creating employment opportunities, and enhancing the overall competitiveness of the country.
During the corresponding period in 2022, the investments in this sector amounted to 45.5 billion tenge (equivalent to US$100.4 million). The statistics reveal the distribution of invested assets across various cities in Kazakhstan, with the highest share of investments directed towards Almaty, reaching 17.9 billion tenge (US$39.5 million).
The Mangystau Region secured the second position, attracting 17.8 billion tenge (US$39.3 million) in investments, marking an impressive 8.5-fold increase compared to the same period in the previous year.
Astana ranked third with 16.1 billion tenge (US$35.5 million), reflecting a noteworthy annual growth rate of 56.1%. Collectively, the top three regions contributed to 66.7% of the total investments in the sector nationwide.(Source:astanatimes)
