Kazakhstan Initiates Direct Wheat Shipments to Vietnam

Kazakhstan has completed its first direct wheat shipments to Vietnam without container transshipment, marking a milestone in export logistics.

Between May and September, Kedentransservice JSC, a subsidiary of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, in partnership with Fort LLP and NC Food Contract Corporation JSC, transported 17,000 tons of wheat via 10 grain trains from Ak-Kul, Azat, and Kokshetau stations. The shipments traveled through China’s Lianyungang port to Haiphong, maintaining uninterrupted container transport, the Kaztemir Zholy press service reported on Sept. 10.

This direct transport approach reduces handling, preserves product quality, shortens delivery times, and lowers logistics costs. Experts highlight that the project demonstrates Kazakhstan’s potential as a Eurasian transit and export hub and expands opportunities for agricultural exports to Southeast Asia.
