Kazakhstan saw a significant rise in grain exports, with 3.7 million tons of new harvest grain exported between September and December 25, 2024. This marks a 54% increase compared to 2.4 million tons during the same period in 2023, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.
Notable increases in exports were recorded in several key markets. Exports to Uzbekistan rose by 44% to reach 1.4 million tons, while exports to Tajikistan grew by 53% to 589,000 tons. Shipments to Afghanistan and the Kyrgyz Republic also saw boosts, with exports up 52% to 182,000 tons and 22% to 72,000 tons, respectively. Particularly notable was the surge in grain exports to Iran, which saw a 30.2-fold increase, reaching 435,000 tons via the port of Aktau.
For the first 11 months of 2024, Kazakhstan’s total grain cargo reached 9.2 million tons, with 7 million tons being exported and 2.2 million tons transported domestically.
