Kazakhstan Increases Gold and Mineral Reserves in 2024

Kazakhstan has added 522 tons of gold to its state balance in 2024, announced Erlan Akbarov, Chairman of the Committee of Geology under the Ministry of Industry and Construction, during a press conference on Dec. 12.

Key increases in other resources include:

  • Silver: +281,000 tons
  • Chromium ore: +2.38 million tons
  • Uranium: +44,000 tons
  • Copper: +800,000 tons
  • Phosphorite ore: +82 million tons

In the energy sector:

  • Oil reserves: +277 million tons
  • Gas: +113 billion cubic meters
  • Condensate: +1.9 million tons

Groundwater resources also grew to 155,800 cubic meters per day.

Kazakhstan’s resource base now includes 9,548 deposits, covering solid minerals, hydrocarbons, and groundwater, with 987 solid mineral deposits, 355 hydrocarbon deposits, 3,666 common mineral deposits, and 4,540 groundwater deposits.
