KazMunayGaz (KMG) and Rosneft Deutschland GmbH have extended their oil supply contract through the end of 2026, the companies announced on Oct. 7.
During a meeting in Astana, KMG Chairman Askar Khasenov and Rosneft Deutschland GmbH CEO Johannes Bremer discussed logistics and the rising demand for Kazakh crude in the European market. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation.
Under the renewed agreement, monthly deliveries of Kazakh oil to Germany will increase from 100,000 to 130,000 tons, with the additional volumes primarily sourced from Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V.
In recent years, oil from Kashagan B.V. (since 2024) and Tengizchevroil (since 2025) has also entered the German market. From January to September 2025, Kazakhstan exported around 1.5 million tons of crude oil to the Schwedt refinery in northeastern Germany, further reinforcing its role in ensuring Europe’s energy security.
