Kazakhstan Exports One Million Tons of Cargo to China in January

In January, Kazakhstan's cargo exports to China surpassed last year's figure by 43%, reaching one million tons, as reported by the press service of the Samruk Kazyna Sovereign Wealth Fund on February 26th.

In January, Kazakhstan experienced notable increases in various cargo exports to China, with iron ore supplies rising by 19%, grain by 37%, ferrous metals doubling, and non-ferrous metals increasing by 2.2 times. Additionally, exports of goods in containers grew by 2.2 times.

The volume of freight transport by rail between the two countries surged by 22% to reach 2.4 million tons in January compared to the same period in 2023.

Towards the end of January, Samruk Kazyna Chairman Nurlan Zhakupov met with Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Zhang Xiao to discuss the status of ongoing joint projects within the Samruk Kazyna Group and explore opportunities for expanding cooperation.

On February 23, Zhakupov signed a cooperation agreement with Yongcai Sun, Chairman of CRRC Corporation Limited and Director of CRRC Group. This strategic agreement aims to strengthen ties and identify new investment opportunities.
