Kazakhstan Expands Cooperation with U.S. in Energy Sector

Kazakhstan is strengthening its trade and economic ties with the United States, particularly in the energy sector, as highlighted during a high-level meeting on March 15. Led by Energy Minister Almassadam Satkaliyev, Kazakhstan’s delegation met with representatives of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, headed by Senior Vice President Khush Choksy, to discuss opportunities for deeper collaboration.

According to the Kazakh Ministry of Energy, Satkaliyev outlined the country’s ongoing projects in oil and gas production, petrochemicals, renewable energy, and nuclear energy. He also emphasized government efforts to attract foreign investment and foster a favorable business environment.

The discussions focused on increasing American participation in Kazakhstan’s energy projects, particularly in developing sustainable and clean energy initiatives. U.S. Chamber of Commerce representatives acknowledged Kazakhstan’s progress in economic reforms and expressed interest in deepening collaboration in key sectors.

“Kazakhstan is an important trade and economic partner of the U.S. in Central Asia. We see significant potential for expanding our cooperation, especially in the energy sector, and are ready to assist American companies interested in working in the Kazakh market,” he said.

As Kazakhstan continues to advance its energy transition and infrastructure modernization, stronger ties with American companies are expected to bring new technologies and expertise to the country, fostering long-term economic growth and sustainability.
