Kazakhstan Expands Air Connectivity with New Baku-Shymkent and Domestic Routes

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) is set to launch regular flights between Baku and Shymkent starting June 28. The flights will operate three times a week: from Baku on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, and from Shymkent on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. This new route is expected to strengthen both business and tourist connections between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

In addition, Kazakhstan is expanding its domestic air connectivity. Starting April 27, Southern Sky airline will operate the Semei-Astana-Semei route using a 48-seat An-24 aircraft, with three weekly flights initially, increasing to five by mid-May. New flights between Almaty and Semei, as well as Astana and Semei, will also begin in May, along with a new Shymkent-Semei-Shymkent service by FlyArystan starting June 1.

Furthermore, from June 1, SCAT Airlines will operate six weekly flights on the Almaty-Urdzhar-Almaty and Astana-Urdzhar-Astana routes, enhancing connectivity in the region, as reported by the press service of the Abai Region on April 22.
