Kazakhstan Expands Air Connectivity With Azerbaijan

Kazakhstan continues to strengthen air transport links with Azerbaijan through the launch of new routes connecting regional cities with Baku, according to the Transport Ministry.

On June 16, Azerbaijan Airlines launched regular passenger flights between Shymkent and Baku. The route operates three times per week, increasing the total number of weekly flights between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan from 30 to 33.

The airline also plans to expand its network with the introduction of direct flights on the Aktobe–Baku and Atyrau–Baku routes. The Aktobe service is expected to operate three times per week, while the Atyrau route is planned to run four times weekly.

According to the ministry, the expansion of direct air services will enhance transport connectivity, facilitate business and investment cooperation, and support the further development of tourism and economic relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
