Kazakhstan Emphasizes Interregional Cooperation at Arab-Central Asian Forum

A delegation from Kazakhstan, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Alibek Bakayev, participated in the third session of the Arab Economy and Cooperation Forum with Central Asian states and Azerbaijan. The forum, organized by the League of Arab States (LAS), took place on April 30 in Doha. The delegation aimed to explore promising areas for cooperation, as reported by the ministry’s press service.

In his address, Bakayev underscored the forum's crucial role in nurturing interregional cooperation. He highlighted the close historical ties that bind all Arab countries, Azerbaijan, and the nations of Central Asia, emphasizing their shared spiritual and cultural values. Bakayev particularly focused on the key aspects of modern bilateral cooperation.

He emphasized Kazakhstan's collaborative projects and initiatives with Arab countries in business, trade, investment, culture, and science, reaffirming the nation's dedication to deepening and broadening this collaboration.

Bakayev presented several specific proposals aimed at fostering cooperation in various sectors such as economy, investment, finance, innovation, renewable energy, tourism, and infrastructure development. He emphasized leveraging transit and transport potential and addressing environmental, water, and food security challenges. Partners were encouraged to take advantage of the unique services offered by the Astana International Financial Center, which stands out in the Central Asian region.

Within global institutions, Bakayev noted the active support between the countries of the two regions and their alignment on political positions and views regarding pressing international issues.

Regarding the deteriorating situation in the Middle East, Bakayev reiterated Kazakhstan's firm stance. He expressed strong support for resolving the conflict through the "Two Countries – Two Peoples" concept, as well as advocating for an end to ongoing violence and promoting international peace negotiation processes and initiatives.(Source:astanatimes)
