Kazakhstan Climbs to 44th in Global Open Data Ranking

Kazakhstan has advanced to 44th place out of 198 countries in the 2024 Open Data Inventory (ODIN) ranking by Open Data Watch, the Bureau of National Statistics announced on May 5.

This marks steady progress from previous years — 54th in 2020, 51st in 2022, and 48th in 2023. In the latest assessment, Kazakhstan earned an overall score of 72 out of 100, with a particularly strong performance in data coverage, ranking 14th globally.

The ODIN index evaluates the openness and comprehensiveness of official statistics across key sectors. It aims to promote transparency, public access to information, and stronger engagement between data producers and users.

Malaysia topped the 2024 ranking, followed by Singapore, Finland, Denmark, and Poland.
