Kazakhstan has emerged as Georgia’s second-largest export market, importing $743.8 million worth of Georgian goods from January to October 2025, representing a 4.1% increase compared with the same period in 2024. This reinforces Kazakhstan’s position among Georgia’s strategic trading partners, according to data published by the Georgian National Statistics Office.
Within the region, CIS countries continue to dominate Georgia’s export destinations, with the Kyrgyz Republic leading at $1.23 billion. Russia ranked third with $608.3 million in imports, while exports to Azerbaijan and Armenia recorded declines.
Georgia’s overall exports rose by 8.6%, largely driven by a surge in automobile shipments, which accounted for nearly 40% of total exports. Total exports reached $5.84 billion, with automobile exports amounting to $2.29 billion, remaining the country’s primary export commodity.
Other sectors also experienced growth, including exports of precious metal ore concentrates, which nearly doubled to $291.6 million.
Georgia’s imports grew to $14.99 billion, supported by strong inflows from key trading partners. The United States and Türkiye remained the largest suppliers, each contributing $2.27 billion, while China strengthened its position as the third-largest supplier with $1.62 billion in shipments.
Major imported commodities included automobiles, petroleum products, and pharmaceuticals, which continue to dominate Georgia’s external demand structure.
