Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are strengthening their cooperation in crime prevention

The Kazakh Prosecutor General’s Office signed a Cooperation Program with the Ministry of Justice of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on January 25th to enhance international collaboration in combating crime, as reported by the office’s press service.

During his working visit to the UAE, Kazakh Prosecutor General Berik Asylov signed the document at a meeting with UAE Minister of Justice Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi and Attorney General Hamad Saif Al Shamsi. Asylov emphasized the importance of jointly addressing issues related to combating crime and facing modern challenges and threats. He highlighted the necessity of regularly exchanging the best practices due to similar challenges and threats both countries encounter.

Asylov also discussed various aspects of bilateral cooperation in criminal matters, including the extradition of wanted individuals and providing legal assistance in criminal cases. Additionally, the parties explored the UAE's expertise in utilizing artificial intelligence for locating and repatriating unlawfully withdrawn assets.(Source:astanatimes)
