Kazakhstan and Tajikistan reaffirmed their commitment to deepening regional cooperation as Tajik President Emomali Rahmon signed the Treaty on Friendship, Good-Neighborliness and Cooperation for the Development of Central Asia in the 21st Century during the visit of Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu to Dushanbe on Aug. 28.
According to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, the treaty’s implementation will give a strong impetus to enhancing mutually beneficial and comprehensive regional partnerships.
During the meeting, President Rahmon emphasized the steady development of Kazakh-Tajik relations and underscored the importance of expanding multifaceted cooperation within the framework of strategic partnership and alliance.
Both sides noted their consistent support for strengthening unity in Central Asia and underlined that Kazakhstan and Tajikistan invariably place common regional interests at the core of their foreign policy agendas.
