On June 9, Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu met with North Macedonia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski to discuss expanding cooperation across political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
Key discussion points included boosting investments, improving transportation links, and facilitating citizen mobility. Nurtleu thanked North Macedonia for sending a delegation to the Astana International Forum, led by President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, highlighting this as a sign of deepening bilateral ties.
“North Macedonia is one of Kazakhstan’s important partners in the Balkan region. We attach great importance to the comprehensive development of multifaceted relations with your country. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between our states for 30 years, a positive dynamic of interaction in priority areas has been maintained,” said Nurtleu.
Both sides expressed readiness to enhance their legal framework, increase high-level visits, and exchanged views on regional and global issues. They also discussed the potential introduction of a visa-free regime for holders of national passports.
The talks culminated in the signing of a Program of Cooperation between the Foreign Ministries of Kazakhstan and North Macedonia for 2025-2027, establishing a structured framework to advance their multidimensional partnership.
