Kazakhstan and Morocco have signed agreements on criminal extradition, legal assistance in criminal cases, and the transfer of convicted persons during a Dec. 13 visit by Kazakh Prosecutor General Berik Assylov to Morocco.
These agreements aim to enhance cooperation between the two nations’ law enforcement agencies in combating transnational crime, protecting constitutional rights, and fostering bilateral relations.
Assylov highlighted Morocco's strategic significance, located on a key route linking Africa and Europe via the Strait of Gibraltar. The agreements are expected to strengthen legal frameworks, close escape routes for criminals, and ensure law and order.
Kazakhstan previously signed similar treaties with Spain, another country in the region, 12 years ago.
