Kazakhstan and IMF Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthen Economic Partnership

Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Bo Li confirmed their intention to strengthen partnership in all areas of interaction during their meeting on Sept. 16.

During the meeting, discussions centered on financial and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and the IMF. The strategic importance of this collaboration was highlighted, emphasizing positive outcomes in structural reforms, fiscal policy, and the financial sector.

The IMF Regional Center for Capacity Development, established in Almaty last year, has strengthened bilateral and regional dialogues on global financial stability.

On September 9, Moody’s upgraded Kazakhstan’s credit rating to Baa1 and revised the outlook to stable. This rating is the highest since the country's independence, reflecting improvements in institutional and economic diversification.

Bo Li expressed commitment to furthering productive cooperation to enhance Kazakhstan’s economic development and public welfare. Kazakhstan has been an IMF member since 1992, with the partnership vital for economic stability and sustainable growth.(Source:astanatimes)
