On May 6, Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu met with a Hungarian parliamentary delegation to strengthen inter-parliamentary dialogue and cooperation within international organizations, particularly the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
Discussions focused on promoting the rule of law, human rights, and democratic principles, with an emphasis on Kazakhstan’s involvement in PACE. Nurtleu expressed confidence in the successful implementation of the Council of Europe’s Neighborhood Cooperation Priorities (NCP) for 2024-2027, aligned with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s reforms.
Kazakh Deputy Foreign Minister Roman Vassilenko further outlined Kazakhstan’s political and socio-economic reforms aimed at creating a Just and Fair Kazakhstan. Both parties emphasized the importance of continued collaboration with the Venice Commission, as well as Kazakhstan’s active participation in PACE sessions to share best practices and present updates on ongoing reforms.
