Kazakh Deputy Foreign Minister Roman Vassilenko held discussions on deepening strategic cooperation with Germany on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference on Feb. 16, according to the Foreign Ministry.
Vassilenko met with Robin Wagener, coordinator of the German Foreign Ministry for Central Asia and head of Germany’s delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, as well as Nils Schmid, the Social Democratic Party’s foreign policy spokesperson in the Bundestag.
Talks focused on political, trade, and economic collaboration, referencing the Central Asia + Germany summit held in Astana last September. Both sides emphasized the importance of the Joint Declaration on Cooperation and key bilateral platforms such as the Intergovernmental Working Group, Kazakh-German Business Council, and Berlin Eurasian Club.
