The Kazakh government has allocated over 1.2 billion tenge (US$2.3 million) from recovered illegally acquired assets to build a new school in the Zhanaarka district of the Ulytau Region. The new facility will accommodate 80 students at Manadyr station.
The existing school, built in 1981 with an extension added in the 2000s, is overcrowded, with 123 students enrolled, far exceeding its design capacity of 60. It currently lacks essential facilities like laboratories, gym, workshop, and specialized classrooms.
Construction of the new school is set to begin in the first quarter of 2025, aiming to improve educational conditions and provide modern learning environments.
Previous allocations of recovered assets have funded various educational and healthcare projects, including kindergartens for special needs children, sports complexes, and a hospital in Ridder.
