The Kazakh National Bank has launched a new coin collection honoring the nation’s heritage
The National Bank of Kazakhstan (NBK) recently issued collectible coins titled “Shanyragynyz shattyqqa tolsyn” (Peace to Your Home) as part of the From Heart-to-Heart series. The coins represent the idea of peace and warmth in the home, with the phrase wishing harmony and prosperity to households.
The Kazakh National Bank has released numerous artistic and culturally significant coins, showcasing themes from historical milestones to national achievements and cultural symbols. These coins celebrate Kazakhstan's heritage and act as educational pieces, raising awareness of the country's rich history and accomplishments globally.
Among the standout collections is the one commemorating the 800th anniversary of the Jochi Ulus, founded by Khan Jochi, the eldest son of Genghis Khan. This collection features the Khan Jochi mausoleum in the Ulytau Region, an iconic historical site. Designed by Kazakh sculptor Gaziz Yeshkenov, the coins display the mausoleum alongside a reverse collage of coins from the Golden Horde era.
