Foreign direct investment (FDI) from Kazakhstan into the Kyrgyz Republic surged to a record $113.5 million in 2024, according to the Kyrgyz National Investments Agency, which reported the figures on August 5.
This significant increase signals growing confidence among Kazakh businesses in the Kyrgyz Republic’s investment climate and reflects deepening economic cooperation between the two neighboring states.
Since 2021, Kazakh FDI in Kyrgyzstan has more than tripled, rising from $33.6 million. The upward trend highlights the strengthening strategic partnership and expanding bilateral ties between Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic.
Kazakh investors are actively engaged in key sectors of the Kyrgyz economy, including industry and raw material processing, transport and logistics, agriculture, trade, and services. These investments are contributing to industrial modernization, job creation, technology transfer, and enhanced export capacity in Kyrgyzstan.
