Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has updated its guidance on visa-free travel, outlining the countries that Kazakh citizens can visit without a visa, as well as destinations requiring electronic travel authorizations or visas on arrival.
Holders of ordinary Kazakh passports may stay visa-free for up to 90 days in several countries, including Albania, Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, Georgia, Colombia, Moldova, Mongolia, San Marino, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Tunisia and Ukraine.
Kazakh citizens may also travel without a visa to Armenia and Türkiye for up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Similar visa-free arrangements apply to Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, although visitors staying longer than 30 days are required to register with local authorities.
Russia also permits visa-free entry for up to 90 days per year. However, beginning July 1, travelers entering Russia for employment or study purposes will be required to obtain an electronic entry authorization (ruID).
Visa-free stays of up to 60 days are available in the Dominican Republic, while travelers may stay for up to 30 days without a visa in Argentina, Brazil, Vietnam, Qatar, China, Malaysia, the Maldives, Morocco, Nicaragua, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Seychelles, Serbia, Thailand, the Philippines and Ecuador.
South Korea allows visa-free entry for up to 30 days, subject to obtaining a K-ETA electronic travel authorization before departure. Montenegro grants visa-free access for up to 30 days during the period from May 1 to Oct. 1.
The Foreign Ministry advises travelers to verify entry requirements before departure, apply for visas well in advance where necessary, avoid purchasing non-refundable tickets before obtaining a visa, and check whether transit visas are required when traveling through third countries.
Short-term visa-free entry is also available for up to 14 days in Hong Kong, Iran and Macau, and for up to 28 days in Barbados. Meanwhile, visas on arrival are available for Kazakh citizens traveling to Zambia, Indonesia and Mauritius.
