Kazakh and Chinese Officials, Business Leaders Intend to Enhance Interregional Cooperation

Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu and Sichuan Communist Party Committee Secretary Wang Xiaohui reviewed the opportunities for Kazakhstan and China’s interregional cooperation during a Nov. 30 meeting in Chengdu.

During the discussions, the parties emphasized trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation, as well as collaboration in high technology, finance, investment, and green energy, as reported by the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.

Minister Nurtleu underscored the importance of enhancing regional connectivity between the two nations, particularly through the expansion of transport and logistics networks, the attraction of investment, and the strengthening of people-to-people exchanges.

Wang highlighted the significant economic potential of the region and proposed deepening trade and economic ties between Sichuan Province and Kazakhstan’s regions.

On the same day, Minister Nurtleu held meetings with executives from leading Chinese corporations to deliberate on advancing bilateral cooperation in investment, trade, and economic sectors.

Enterprises specializing in green and renewable energy, mechanical engineering, the agro-industrial complex, and construction expressed substantial interest in establishing mutually beneficial partnerships with Kazakh counterparts. They conveyed their anticipation of comprehensive support from the Kazakh government in facilitating their operations within the country.

The business representatives presented their capabilities in the production of solar modules, agricultural unmanned aerial vehicles, advanced grain processing technologies, and urban infrastructure development.
