EAEU Officials Discuss Economic Integration and Innovation at Almaty Meeting

On Jan. 30, Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov hosted a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Almaty, where officials from EAEU member countries focused on enhancing economic cooperation and integration.

Key topics included the advancement of joint projects, technological innovations, and the development of a unified information system within the EAEU. Special emphasis was placed on agro-industrial development, with discussions on improving sustainability and fostering innovation in the sector, including areas such as breeding, seed production, livestock farming, and agricultural processing.

Bektenov expressed confidence that the decisions made would drive integration processes forward, citing steady GDP growth within the union and projecting a 4% economic performance by the end of 2024. The meeting also addressed the shared vision for economic development in the EAEU up to 2030, aligning with global trends and emerging technologies.

The event was attended by the leaders of Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Armenia, and the chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
