Bank CenterCredit Publishes 2025 Sustainability Report
Bank CenterCredit has released its third Sustainability Report, outlining the bank’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance and sustainable development achievements in 2025.
The report was prepared in line with the recommendations of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market (ARDFM) and international reporting standards, including GRI, SASB, and IFRS S1 and S2. For the first time, it also includes an assessment of the bank’s socio-economic contribution to Kazakhstan’s economy.
According to the report, Bank CenterCredit improved its score in the S&P Corporate Sustainability Assessment to 75 points, representing a 23% increase compared with the previous year.
As part of its climate strategy, the bank continued expanding its green financing portfolio, supporting renewable energy, gas-fired power generation and low-carbon transport projects. The share of green electricity in the bank’s operations increased to 31%, while Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions declined by 26%. Portfolio emissions (Scope 3 financed emissions) were reduced to 1.7 million tonnes of CO₂ equivalent.
In 2025, the bank allocated more than 2.8 billion tenge (US$5.9 million) to charitable and social initiatives. These efforts were implemented in cooperation with national and international partners, including the Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO Clubs. Through the BCC Academy and Leadership School, the bank delivered more than 200 training programs to support employee development.
The report also notes that Bank CenterCredit completed a Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) assessment in accordance with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) methodology.
The Sustainability Report underwent independent assurance by KPMG in accordance with the ISAE 3000 standard. The full report, together with the ESG Databook, is available on the bank’s official website.
