Astana LRT to Begin Operations This Spring
Astana’s LRT system is expected to commence operations this spring, announced Astana Akim Zhenis Kassymbek on March 2.
Kassymbek, alongside Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar, inspected the LRT depot and the Unified Dispatch Center, which will serve as the central hub for train operations, traffic coordination, public transport management, bicycle rentals, and transport data analysis.
Test operations are currently underway across the entire line. The system will operate in driverless mode, with the official launch date to be confirmed following certification and completion of all technical requirements.
