Astana hosted a Water Caravan event ahead of the Fifth World Nomad Games
The ceremonial event, **Birlik Kerueni** (Caravan of Unity), began on September 6, uniting athletes, public figures, and batyrs from across Kazakhstan. Participants will transport water from sacred springs in different regions to the capital, symbolizing national unity in anticipation of the Fifth World Nomad Games.
According to the Astana administration's press service, the water collected will play a central role in the opening ceremony of the Fifth World Nomad Games. In Astana, the source of the Yessil River, the capital's main waterway, was chosen for the water collection.
On the opening day, a vibrant parade will showcase batyrs from different regions carrying trunks filled with sacred water. Creative groups, part of the caravan decorated in regional styles, will also head to Astana for the cultural program.
The Birlik Kerueni event will feature a theatrical performance and a concert with a drum ensemble, Kazakh artists, and national stage stars.(Source:astanatimes)
