The Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) and the Institute for Development and Diplomacy (IDD) at ADA University have jointly released a comprehensive analytical report exploring the untapped economic potential of the Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan partnership. The report positions both nations as strategic Silk Road hubs capable of advancing a shared geoeconomic vision centered on diversification, enhanced trade, and stronger transregional connectivity.
AIFC Governor Renat Bekturov presented the report’s findings on June 17 at the InMerge Almaty 2025 forum. He noted that the publication aims to offer practical, forward-looking recommendations for strengthening bilateral economic cooperation.
Fariz Ismailzade, Director of the Institute for Development and Diplomacy and Vice-Rector for External and Government Affairs at ADA University, highlighted that the two countries have been identified as “keystone states” of the Silk Road region. Their geographic and economic positioning, he emphasized, gives them an essential role in establishing a global corridor characterized by secure, rapid, and cost-effective connectivity.
